Not that I am for him, but as far as I can see his followers are not neglible, he has *some* Sunni support and until and unless some outside power *does* intrude, why couldn't he go with the new constitution and stick around? His army can take the opposition so far, right? I think it's up to other countries whether they put a spoke in this "humanitarian" effort, or not. Is Russia, is China *really* going to really step up to the plate? They should, or we will see even more and worse carnage in Syria and much more liklihood of Iran being attacked in turn.
